About

From Leigh Jenkins:

“I grew up in Mansfield, Ohio. My grandmother, Margaret Hall, was a concert pianist and teacher.  I was only five when she passed away, so I missed the opportunity to study with her.  My piano instruction began when I was ten, first with one of my grandmother’s former students, then with Mercedes Alleshouse, with whom I continued through high school.  As a music major at Ohio Wesleyan University, I studied with Charles Keller and Robert Lawrence.  I received my Bachelor of Music degree in 1976.  I began teaching piano in 1983, first in Tennessee, then in Michigan.

After living and teaching in Michigan for the past 25 years, I’ve recently move to Keene, New Hampshire.  I had to say goodbye to my 30+ students, many of whom I’d grown very close to over the years.  I’m starting my new studio here in southwest New Hampshire, and look forward to meeting and beginning new students”.

“My husband, Mark, and I have been married for 33 years, and we have two grown children, Emily and Ben.  In addition to music, I enjoy native plant gardening and hiking in the woods.
