Students attend a 45-minute lesson each week. The lessons provide a solid foundation in keyboard technique and musicianship. Because every student is unique, the lesson plan is tailored to each child’s strengths and challenges, and focus is always on the individual student’s growth.
The beginning student will make music from the very first lesson, even before being introduced to note reading and musical notation. As the student develops technical ability and skill in reading music, he or she is then able to explore more challenging pieces of the repertoire with confidence and a relaxed technique.
Students will have several performance opportunities throughout the year, including playing for each other at the Halloween Party, for family and friends at the Holiday Mini-Recitals, and for a larger audience at the Annual Spring Recital. Optional competitions and festivals are also encouraged.
